WordFUL Wednesday: "Up All Night"

I came across this great pin on pinterest earlier today and it really spoke to me. Shout out to Kristen, from Clam Chowder for Lunch for writing such a mom-ivational post. I recently spoke about not calling my weight "baby weight" anymore since it's been longer than a year and this post just solidified why my "hot mom" journey is better than my pre-mommy journey.

Location, Location, Location

I am so extremely grateful.

Being a working mom takes a lot finesse and having a flexible career makes it that much easier, in my opinion. Today, starts my working mom dream. I was blessed to be able to get a new position closer to home and closer to Yus. I can't even express my excitement through words... It's more like, Ahahahdklsfpjrkltls (that's my scream).

I feel like, every working mom wants to be hands-on and be able to tackle both work life and home life and ultimately create a seamless work/home balance. Well folks, I finally have that now and I'm a believer that it's all in the location.

Living and working in the same area in my opinion just makes everything easier. No more train/bus link-up pass. No more waiting for the bus in the rain, snow, and below zero weather. No more praying the train won't be delayed in the snow and then when it is delayed making that call to the hubs, "I'll be at least 2 hours late tonight". :-(

Yes, to being able to pick-up Yus on-time. Yes, to swinging by the grocery store on the way home (I am no longer afraid of it and  I saved $33.95 my last trip). Yes, to driving 15 minutes to work.

... and Yes, to starting 2012 with a BANG of a BLESSING!

How do you balance work & home?

2012: Holstee Manifesto

The manifesto below was on a co-workers desk. I started reading it and realized that after the birth of my son I kind of let my self go. I think all moms at some point do this. You think family first and by the time you get to yourself on the list there is no "time".
Cheers! To moms in the New Year and putting time on the calendar for just YOU.

Working Mom Funk - No More

Being a working mom, I sometimes feel like I'm missing out on quality time. I spend at least 12 hours a day commuting and working. That's twelve hours not bonding with my little boy. I keep reminding myself that by me working, we as a team are able to better provide for our son and give him the things he needs. I remember putting together a pumping schedule so that I could nurse for at least 9 months. Goal achieved.

Having a supportive mate who reminds me of my worth and how great a mom I am allows me to keep pushing through the work day and week. Lately, I've been reminiscing about the past year and thinking how far we have come as a family. We truly are a team of 3. So, to get myself over these little funky hump, I've started reciting this mantra.
I'm a loving wife, nurturing mom, and I'm doing tha' damn thang!
